Ghostly Gambits

Wait your turn

During her Saturn Return, photographer Marley Montgomery started seeing ghosts—on camera and off. Now she’s back in her Florida hometown, where the paranormal hides in plain sight.

Her new reality is anything but ordinary. Marley’s visions of the past have led her to the Enchanted Antique Shop—which just happens to house a time-travel portal in the back room.

When the ghosts of two town founders face off on a life-size chessboard, Marley finds herself caught in one of Enchanted Springs’ most spirited rivalries.

The showdown pits Henry Addison, a wealthy industrialist, against Hettie Stillson, a staunch Temperance advocate. And for this ghostly game, they’ll command spectral armies of paranormal players who will stand in for every piece on the board.

Violet, the shop’s spirited ghost of a 1920s flapper, will play the part of the White Queen.

The coveted trophy: a bottle of wine so rare, it glows with the spirits of vineyards long since past, guarded by a priest whose love for a fine vintage is surpassed only by his reverence for the sacred rules of play.

Welcome to Enchanted Springs, where ghosts are friendly, magic is real, and time is anything but linear.
